NATU® & Weigh® systems can meet the drilling fluid technical requirements under most geological conditions.

NATU® Drilling Fluid System

(A alternative to PHPA-KCl or Polymers/KCl systems)

For the purpose of protecting the environment and protecting the reservoir, and on the premise of meeting the requirements of drilling engineering such as shale inhibition etc., A new drilling fluid system was built by modifying natural materials instead of chemical synthesis.

Three characteristics: environmental protection, reservoir protection, meeting the requirements of drilling engineering

Weigh® Drilling and Completion Fluid System

It is a system based on low-carbon alkali metal organic acid salts, organic acid ammonium salts, organic acid quaternary ammonium salts. It can be solid-free or low-solid.

It is suitable for high temperature and high pressure, water sensitive mudstone, salt-gypsum formation, extended-reach horizontal well, tight oil, shale gas and other complex wells and difficult wells. It has been successfully applied to a variety of extreme engineering conditions, such as high temperature 240, high pressure 2.60g/cm3, huge salt-gypsum interval of 3026m, extended reach horizontal wells (horizontal segment of 4466m), fracturing weighting fluid to achieve bottom hole pressure of 207MPa, etc.

The Weigh® system originated from solving complex drilling engineering problems on the southern margin of the Junggar Basin in Xinjiang. The area is about 450km long from east to west and about 50km wide from north to south. There are many geological structures to oil and gas accumulation, and geologists have always placed high hopes. During 1980-2000, a total of 15 exploration wells were drilled in different structures of the area, all of which failed to reach the target formation due to drilling complexities and accidents. In 1997, the Xinjiang Petroleum Administration at the time proposed to “to re-explorate  the southern margin”, organizing research and development in engineering, mud, cementing and other aspects, and seeking cooperation across the country. Based on the following two points of view, we proposed a solution of organic salt technology, since then started the research of Weigh® system.

"Research and Application of Organic Salt Drilling Fluid Technology" was established as a bureau-level scientific research project of Xinjiang Petroleum Administration Bureau in 1999. In the same year, the first well was tested on site—Well 84477 in the Eighth Area; in 2000, it was established as "Scientific and technological innovation project" by the National Economic and Trade Commission at the time, the second and third wells, Wusandong Area Well 57031 and Mobei 5011 well were tested; in 2001, breakthrough progress was made and the first accident-free well in the southern margin of Junggar Basin was completed in 20 years And successfully drilled the well of the target formation — West 5 well, and won the third prize of Xinjiang Autonomous Region Science and Technology Progress Award in 2002. Successfully solved the unsolved drilling fluids problem in the southern margin of the Junggar Basin for 20 years.

Since then, the Weigh® system has been improved and promoted for 18 years, applied thousands of wells, created nearly 40 industry records, and achieved extraordinary achievements.

FloatX™ Technology

The two most commonly used fracturing fluids: guar gum has good sand-carrying ability, but it is not easy to form a complex fracture network, and the reservoir is highly damaged; slippery water is easy to form complex fracture networks, and the reservoir damage is less, but the sand-carrying ability is poor.

How to enhance proppant suspension in slippery water?

Spray a chemical material on the surface of the proppant to make it surface active and "hydrophobic and aerophilic", quickly adsorb bubbles, and let the proppant carry "airbags on its back”, and suspend it in the fracturing fluid, thereby allowing the proppant to move farther, better distribution..
